FIREWALL EVANGELISM TRAINING IN KANANGA (KAPANDA VILLAGE ), DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO (DRC): 25 TO 27 SEPTEMBER 2026

After two years of trying to present training in Kananga, God intervened in the local flight situation and made it possible. Pastor Louis Luwaya, Superintendent Central Francophone Region (COGWM), met Ps Adri Theron from Wheels for God’s Word in Lubumbashi, and together they flew to Kananga. The Territorial Overseer of Grand Kasaï Province, the Church of God, Pastor Lubuele Moïs, welcomed them here.

The training took place on 25 September in Kapanda Village, outside Kananga, at the Tabord Mission. Fifty-seven pastors and evangelists attended. These pastors represented the following 12 villages: Demba (63km), Tshienda (191km), Kalundu (73km), Kazumba (121km), Kananga, Kalambayi (196km), Luiza (248km), Bujimayi (179km), Luebo (191km), Kueka, Dimbelenge (117km), and Tshikapa (241km). Most of these pastors travelled between 60 and 248 km, some of them on foot.

Training was presented in English and interpreted in French and Tshiluba. During the practical evangelism, the Gospel of Jesus Christ was presented 83 times, 219 people listened to the Gospel, and 77 prayed the sinner’s prayer, committing their lives to Christ.

Each pastor and evangelist received a Heart of Man training and evangelism package for himself and his Church, consisting of the large chart, the pocket chart and the booklet. Through a donation from Dr Raymond Lombard, Wheels for God’s Word and Director of Evangelism and Church Planting/Africa Firewall Coordinator, 17 bicycles were purchased and distributed amongst the pastors. However, the need is much greater.

For the first time, training on “Redefining the Believer” (written by Ronnie Hepperly and Jack Niedermayer) was also presented on Saturday, 26 September, to further equip pastors in Theological knowledge. They were motivated, encouraged, and equipped with knowledge to know who they are in Christ and to stand strong on God’s Word.

We are humble in our adoration for God’s provision and the sacrifices of these men and women to attend the training and work in God’s Kingdom.

Sunday morning was an opportunity to minister in a local Church. It is only a canvas cover over tree branches, but the vibe was vibrant, and the Holy Spirit was present. When it rains, church is not possible, but they serve God with zeal and enthusiasm. To buy a plot will require approximately $ 8,000 US. We pray and trust God for His provision.

God be glorified in the proclamation they made today to do personal evangelism, to share the Bread of Life, Jesus Christ.
