OUR STRATEGY FOR ACCELERATING THE SPREAD OF THE GOSPEL THROUGHOUT AFRICA
“Wheels for God’s Word” and “Word on Wheels” is a strategy to accelerate the spreading of the gospel of Jesus Christ ten to twelve times faster than at present.
Travelling by bicycle on gravel roads and footpaths through the bush and forest has been found to cut walking time by at least a tenth. In some instances pastors travel up to 500 km per week!
Bicycles are easily repaired and maintained, making them the ideal means of transportation to reach some of the most remote areas which have previously been unreached.
The trust of this mission’s ministry is to supply bicycles to (mainly) rural African pastors and evangelists. Second hand bicycles donated for this worthy cause are crated and flown by plane to various neighbouring African countries to the contact person who distributes the bikes according to the area of priority. In other African countries new bicycles are purchased. Bicycles are shipped to Indian Ocean Islands.
For the sake of co-ordination and logistics, 4 X 4 vehicles, motor cars and trailers (wheels) are given to key-point men of God.
MAIN OBJECTIVES
SHORT TERM GOALS
- To provide 7000 bicycles to evangelists and preachers by the year 2010.
- To provide 4 X 4 vehicles to the national co-ordinator in every country where we operate.
- To provide motorcycles to the field directors in every country where we operate.
- To provide 49 000 Heart of Man charts to preachers.
- To provide 490 000 Heart of Man booklets to preachers. (10 for every chart)
- To provide “The Way to God” (mini discipleship course) follow-up booklet - 49000.
- To provide Bibles.
- To provide training (How to use the Heart of Man Chart) for church leaders.
- Crusades.
WHEELS FOR GOD’S WORD CAN BE SUPPORTED IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS
PRAYER for the men of God who endure unbelievable hardships in order to spread the good news to the people of Africa. Prayer for an out-pouring of God’s Spirit wherever “Bicycle Missionaries” travel and an anointing on the material supplied.
BICYCLES donated to Wheels for God’s Word are sent to local pastors in African countries to spread the Gospel ten times faster than on foot.
FINANCIAL AID is desperately needed for the purchasing of bicycles, teaching materials and literature, for freighting and refurbishing costs. Heart of Man charts and booklets, visual presentation of the message of salvation, are used by pastors and evangelists to preach the gospel to the often illiterate people of Africa.
